1)  Segregation means to keep separate. A cruel part of American history occured during a time when whites and minority peoples were kept separate in all manners of life - in education, socially, and economically. Here's my question: Can you tell who faced the greatest disadvantages in life, and suffered the most?
2)  Here's what you need to know: After World War II, African Americans demanded equal treatment and the recognition of their rights as American citizens. Here's my Question: In what ways was education unequal for blacks especially in Virginia?
3)  Here's what you need to know: The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 1954 (Brown v. Board of Education) that “separate but equal” public schools were unconstitutional. What led to the Court ruling that ended school segregation?
4)  Here's what you need to know: After the Brown Vs The Board of Education Ruling, all public schools, including those in Virginia, were ordered to integrate. Here's my Question: How did Whites react to the idea that they would have to go to school with Blacks?
5)  How did Blacks fight for equal rights?
